Got stress? It may not be because of a heavy workload, a frustrating relationship or other personal challenges, but for a reason you have never considered: you’re simply blocking relief. In other words, your stress isn’t hanging around because you’re unlucky or you have a bad boss; it sticks to you because you’re not paying attention to what’s right in front of you to relieve it.
It’s like blinders on a galloping horse. When you’re stressed, all you can see is straight ahead. Since you don’t want the person on your back to keep digging his heels into your side, you just go, go, go.
From a Fullistic® perspective, there are three dimensions of stress:
-What you are thinking and communicating
-How you feel
-How willing you are to receive love and support
When you’re stressed, your self-talk is hideous. It’s filled with energetic “knots” of all kinds–what you can’t do, what isn’t going right, what you don’t want to happen, what you won’t get now or in the future. The problem with this is that the human mind is designed to create, so whenever we affirm the negative, it creates tension because the “not” drops out and suddenly, you’re stuck with a mental picture of something you don’t want. For example, if I say, “Don’t slam the door!” you still think of a door slamming. Or, “don’t turn that report in late!”
Here’s the bigger problem: you don’t just think stressful thoughts, you feel every single one of them. Every thought creates a corresponding emotion or feeling in your body. So you’re not just thinking that person is a pain in the neck; you’re probably experiencing a pain in your neck as you do.
What’s worse is that when you complain, either as you speak or write, you amplify and strengthen the energy of what you don’t want because you’re focusing both attention and emotion, the twin creators, into the field of subatomic potential. Like attracts like. This is why, when you don’t want to be late, you run into every slow driver or you forget your computer and have to turn around.
Just when you think it can’t get to be any more fun, when you stress your body, you change your personal energy field for the worse. You start radiating low vibrational levels of guilt, frustration, disappointment, fear and anger that everyone else around you can feel. It’s like coughing or sneezing without covering your face–your stress literally goes viral. It may be invisible, but it’s palpable–so much so that people start avoiding you, even if they don’t know why they are.
Noetic Science tells us that we are all connected in a conscious, unified field of awareness. The easiest way to understand this is when you’ve been thinking about an old friend and he or she “suddenly” calls you. Or when you know in your heart that you’re ready for true love, and when you’re not actively looking, find your yoga mat next to someone who had been in class for ages but whom you’d never met before.
Stress can make it difficult to see the resources and answers that are here for you now, but they’re there, as every problem creates an energetic polarity that causes its opposite to also come into being.
Help comes into being the instant a problem pops up, but we don’t see it because our attention is 100% on the problem.
